Ingredients
1 Instant Active Yeast 1/2 tsp
2 Sugar 1/2 tsp
3 Lukewarm Water 3 tbsp
4 All Purpose Flour 1/4 cup
5 Wheat Flour 1/4 cup
6 Salt 1/4 tsp
7 Oil 2 tsp
8 Egg 1
9 Water 2 tsp
Method
1 In a bowl, dissolve dry yeast& sugar in 3tbspof lukewarm water.
2 Add both the flours and salt to the above mixture and start kneading.
3 Add 2 tsp of oil (1 tsp at a time) & knead into a soft dough.
4 Spread dough into an oval bed of 1/2 inch thickness.
5 Roll the dough into baguette shape and seal the edgeswith water.
6 Leave the dough to rise for 30-45 minutes on an oil basted tray.
7 To prepare the Egg-wash: Mix the egg white and 2 tbsp of water.
8 Baste this mixture on the top part of the dough.
9 Bake at 190°C for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven.
Tip
1 Basting the bread with egg is optional.
